How to connect Up&Up to Zapier

Create an API key in Up&Up
Sign in, open Settings → API keys and press Create key. Give it a name you will recognise, such as “Zapier”. Copy the key straight away — it is shown once, and Up&Up only keeps a scrambled copy. Owners and admins can create keys.

Pick a workflow
Choose one of the ready-made workflows above and press “Use this workflow”, or search for any other app in the box. You can also start from zapier.com and choose Up&Up as the app.

Connect your Up&Up account
When Zapier asks you to connect Up&Up, paste the API key. Zapier checks it and names the connection after your Up&Up organisation.

Choose your assessment and test it
Pick the assessment the workflow should use, map any fields you want, and use Zapier’s test button. For triggers, Zapier shows recent real events from your account, or an example if there are none yet.

Turn it on
Publish the Zap. From then on it runs by itself every time the event happens in Up&Up.
Troubleshooting and common questions
Does the Zapier integration cost extra?+
No. The integration and API keys are included on every Up&Up plan, including the free plan. Zapier has its own free and paid plans for how many tasks your Zaps run each month.
Who can connect Up&Up to Zapier?+
Anyone with an API key. Only owners and admins of an Up&Up organisation can create or revoke keys; members can ask an owner for one.
Why does Zapier say my assessment is not available, or the invitation failed?+
Invitations can only be sent for published assessments. Publish the assessment in Up&Up, then try the step again.
My “Candidate passed” Zap never runs. Why?+
This trigger only fires for assessments that have a pass mark set. Open the assessment’s settings in Up&Up, set a pass mark, and new submissions at or above it will trigger the Zap. “Candidate completed” fires for every finished assessment, pass or fail.
Why did an “abandoned”, “interview missed” or “expired” event arrive late?+
These three are found by a check that runs once a day, so they can reach Zapier up to a day after the moment itself. An attempt counts as abandoned once it has been left unfinished for the assessment’s abandonment window — 48 hours unless you change it. All other events are sent the moment they happen.
I revoked or lost my API key. What happens to my Zaps?+
Zaps using a revoked key stop working straight away. Create a new key in Settings → API keys, then reconnect Up&Up in Zapier with it — your Zaps keep their settings.
Does sending an invitation through Zapier use credits?+
Credits are used when a candidate starts the assessment, exactly as with invitations sent from the Up&Up dashboard. Sending the invitation itself does not use one, and an assessment with an AI voice interview uses two.
